What you'll do

A combined tour that allows you to discover the famous waterways of Venice, and the glorious Saint Mark’s Basilica. This tour is divided into two parts. From a centrally located meeting point you will enjoy a view of the city from the water, on board a shared Gondola.

On your return to the starting point at San Moisè  Square, you will go on to visit the interiors of Saint Mark's Basilica, discovering the Byzantine history, the Golden Pall (Pala d'Oro) and the glittering mosaics. [readmore]
You will be assisted in boarding the Gondola, one of the most recognized symbols of Venice - up to 6 people per Gondola - at the landing stage of San Moisè. Experience how the locals were transported by these beautiful black, elegant rowing boats, throughout history.

The Gondola originally built to navigate the canals of this unique city and still hand built in same way today, is recognized world-wide. With less than 500 Gondolas and Gondoliers remaining, it is an experience that you must not miss. You can be expected to admire the minor canals in the heart of Venice, soaking up the atmosphere of days gone-by, you will cover a short stretch of the Grand Canal, the most famous canal in the world, and then back through the narrow waterways return to the starting point in this 30 minute ride.

Feel part of an ancient Venetian tradition and experience Venice from the water! Once disembarked from the Gondola, you will need to make your way back to the Clock tower of Venice, in Saint Mark’s Square, and from there will be accompanied to the Basilica, once the private chapel of the Doge of Venice, and the only one of its kind in Italy, thanks to the sumptous golden mosaics and impressive marble inlay flooring.

During the tour you will be able to sit down in the church and absorb the atmosphere whilst listening to your guide who will describe the biblical scenes represented throughout the building, together with history and particularities of this ancient Basilica. The tour includes the visit of the famous Pala d'Oro, an altarpiece made of gold and silver and an exquisite example of Byzantine art with a myriad of gems and precious stones. This 1 hour and 30 minute combined tour concludes outside the Basilica, in Saint Marks Square.
