Take advantage of the last entrance ticket to visit the Borghese Gallery that contains one of the largest private art collections in the world. The museum collection covering twenty rooms consists of antiques, sculptures and many paintings.
Look at sculptures and paintings by Bernini, Canova, Caravaggio, Titian, and other masters. Discover highlights such as the representation of Pauline Bonaparte by Canova, and go to the Caravaggio room to look at paintings such as "David with the Head of Goliath" and the "Boy with a Basket of Fruit."
See Raphael's "The Deposition" and "Lady with a Unicorn," along with sculptures by Bernini, including his "Apollo and Daphne" and "David." Go for a stroll around the gardens for a view over the Piazza del Popolo. You can also see the earliest known work by the sculptor, The Goat Amalthea with the Infant Jupiter and a Faun. According to some estimates, Bernini was in his early teens when he produced his first sculpture.
The gallery is best-known for its collection of Bernini statues on the ground floor, including Apollo and Daphne, the Rape of Proserpina and Aeneas, Anchises & Ascanius. There are also numerous paintings by Bellini, Raphael, Titian, Rubens, and Caravaggio.
