On this 3.5-hour excursion, you’ll head out of Rome with your private driver to the wooded hills of Castelli Romani. The name of the area translates as Roman castles, but in reality, it simply refers to a collection of wine-producing hills just southeast of Rome.
The tour, priced for a group of up to 4 people, stops at Antico Casale, where you’ll meet the winemaker and then tour the vineyard and cellars. Learn how the wine is produced and maybe even sample a grape fresh off of the vine.
After the winery tour, you’ll sit down for a tasting session and sample 3 varieties of wine that are produced here. [readmore]
The first wine you’ll taste is a white Frascati DOCG, which means the wine has its designation of origin guaranteed. The second is a red wine IGP, which has a protected geographical indication. And last but not least, taste a sweet Cannellino wine.
Each wine is paired with a delicious Italian specialty, such as Roman pizza or Minardi olive oil, as well as in-season fruits and vegetables from the garden.
