Have a quiet walk through the small streets and colorful buildings of the city of Rome, following the steps of your official and knowledgeable guides.
Your tour will start from the Castel Sant'Angelo (Saint Angel Castle) by its commonly used name, Mausoleum of Hadrian by its real name. Your guide will explain to you from outside the History of this incredible building. Made first on the request of Emperor Hadrian for a Mausoleum for him and his family, the Castle became a fortress for the Pope. It was at the time the highest building of Rome. [readmore]
Following the steps of your guide, you will then reach Piazza Navona (Navona square), an example of Baroque Roman architecture and art, a square was the genius of Gian Lorenzo Bernini and Francesco Borromini fought through their respective masterpieces. You could admire the wonderful fountain of the 4 rivers by Bernini and the church of Sant'Agnese in Agone by Francesco Borromini.
The path will then reach the famous Fontana di Trevi (Trevi Fountain), designed by Italian architect Nicola Salvi and completed by Giuseppe Pannini and several others that finished the building on 1752. We know all the famous scene in the movie "La Dolce Vita" of Federico Fellini that illustrate well the beauty of the fountain. You could taste a great homemade gelato (ice cream) before restarting the visit.
The next steps will be thePiazza di Spagna (Spain square) and the Spanish steps, before climbing up to the Pincio (Pincian Hill) where you will finish the tour with a great view of the city of Rome. You will be then hosted up to the Aperitivo in a really special place, where a good glass of wine or spritz, for example, will accompany you for the debriefing of this beautiful walk.
