Paris Tours take you beyond the sights. Explore the city that is full of glamour, cultural diversity, artistic expression, and historical significance. Despite its large size, the metropolis does a wonderful job of maintaining its cozy feel. It’s clear why the capital has a reputation as the most enchanting and romantic city in France. Although a trip to the Eiffel Tower or the Notre Dame Cathedral is without a doubt, a requirement when visiting, there are so many other Paris Tours that are also worth investing your time and money in. With a plethora of architectural wonders and fascinating museums to explore, there’s huge value gained in choosing to enjoy Paris on a tour.

The Eiffel Tower, soaring 300 m high, is one of the most iconic of structures in Paris. From any vantage point in the city, you can catch a glimpse of its stunning wrought iron construction. Take a river cruise on the Seine river to admire The Eiffel Tower from below. As you float by, watch the City of Lights, with the Eiffel Tower light shows, bring life to the sky. The night casts a magical glow over the city’s most beautiful attractions, making the evening one of the best times to take a tour of the main sites.

During the day, a hop on hop off tour allows you to hit up all the best attractions, ideal for the independent traveler. Spend as much or little time as you like at each site. Tours like these, are perfect because they help you move in and around the city faster, making sure you arrive at your preferred destination without the hassle of needing to navigate the public transportation system. Jump off at main attractions like the Arc de Triomphe, Louvre Museum, the Catacombs, and many more!

For those wanting to venture outside of the city on a day tour from Paris, there are several places you can visit. If you’re looking to discover a national landmark and World Heritage Site all wrapped up in one, guided tours to the Palace of Versailles will introduce you to the famous former royal residence. With an expert guide, you can appreciate more of the rich beauty that awaits you on a tour to Versaille.

Finally, if you prefer to study the streets of Paris on foot, a small group walking tour is a wonderful option for you. The popular Champs-Élysées, near the Eiffel Tower, is an excellent place to start your tour. Continuing along towards the center, pass by the Jardin des Tuileries, venture to the site of the Louvre, relax in the immaculately landscaped Gardens of Luxemburg or stop for a coffee and croissant in a local boulangerie.

Let your senses guide you through the streets of Paris. The city is full of incredible places to try exceptional French wine and cuisine. Enjoy Paris Tours, stopping at local markets or taking you to the best Parisian cafes to eat your way through the city. You’ll know when you’ve found a uniquely Parisian eatery when you come across a terrace packed tight with small round tables squished one next to the other and facing out.

Where is Paris?

Paris is situated in the North of France in the province of Île-de-France. The capital sits on the banks of the river Seine.

How do I arrive?

There are a number of budget airlines flying into Paris. Depending on where you are flying from, you may arrive at any one of the following airports:

  • Charles de Gaulle Airport (France’s largest international airport - 25 km NE of Paris)
  • Orly Airport (14 km S of Paris)
  • Beauvais Airport (90 km N of Paris)

If arriving by train you will most likely arrive at either Gare du Nord or Gare de l’Est. From here you can easily catch a bus or the metro to other areas of Paris.

Do I need a guide?

Many of the most famous sites in Paris are more thoroughly enjoyed with a guide. The city is home to such a vast selection of monuments, architectural masterpieces, world recognized paintings and sculptures and not to mention all the hidden gems. Maximizing your stay is best accomplished on a tour with an experienced guide. They can provide you with all the insights you’ll need to better appreciate your visit. Not only that, if you decide to take a guided tour, you’ll also benefit from skip-the-line access at many of the city’s attractions. Paris is an extremely popular destination and it would be a shame to spend hours on end queuing to explore its beauty.

What will I see on a tour?

There are a number of options for tours in Paris. If you’re a history buff, a tour through the Louvre is sure to please. Let your guide take you through the galleries, making sure you see all the top works of art. In addition, if impressive architecture lights you up, check out the Notre Dame Cathedral, decorated with its spooky gargoyles. They offer audio guide tours that provide you with the context needed to really appreciate your visit.

Walking tours are great as they often give you a wide view of the city. Many even take you to lesser-known hot spots and local hangouts like the Bohemian area of Montmartre or the tranquil park popular with locals, Butter Chaumartin, in Bellville.

Can I take a food tour?

Absolutely! Some of the best food tours take you through the diverse and vibrant neighborhoods of Montmartre and Oberkampf. Taste a selection of the local specialties and sample the delicious wine! The Canal Saint Martin is also a food lovers paradise. Ask your guide to recommend some cafes and restaurants along the canal. The ambiance and vibe in the area is truly something you have to experience.

What’s a unique fact about Paris?

Many would expect that Paris is the largest French-speaking city in the world, however, this is not the case. You may guess then, that Montreal in Canada carries the title. Wrong again. In fact, Kinshasa, in the Democratic Republic of Congo is actually the largest French-speaking city in the world. There are roughly 10,000 French-speaking citizens in Kinshasa.
