Good organised tour and very professional staff

Excellent, especially enjoyed the walking tour given by Big Steve, would recommend everyone to opt for the walking tour - very educational. Also the busses are very well connected.

Perfect day trip

I love the fact that you have enough time to take your time, take pictures, go around and even have lunch without being in a rush. You don't stay there for long (because there is nothing else to do there so you can easily get bored). the amount of time is just perfect and well calculated. You are back to London around 2pm so you still have plenty of time to do other things in the city. I strongly recommend it.

TOWER OF LONDON

A visit to the Tower of London is essential to any tour of London. If you’re reading this, you probably already know that so scroll down if you want to skip to the Tower of London admission prices, Tower of London tickets, tours, discounts, deals and more. Or, if any part of you is still unpersuaded and you’d like to find out more, read on!

This isn’t just any London tower; this is the Tower of London, and it’s one of the most famous attractions in London. Here, you’ll be able to marvel at the crown jewels: the world-famous collection which has 23,578 gemstones. Some of these jewels are still used in royal ceremonies today. Many visitors buy their tower tickets for the royal jewels alone!

Tower of London Experience

Speak to the royal bodyguards, nicknamed Beefeaters, but officially called Yeoman Warders, who also offer tours of the London Tower. They may seem like cuddly, football mascots but appearances can be deceptive. To become a Yeoman Warder, you have to have served in the British army for at least 22 years and also have been awarded the long service and good conduct medal. Who better to learn about the bloody tower history from than the royal guards?

Visit the Tower of London:

  1. A Sneak Peak Learn about the gruesome history and hear the story of Henry VIII and his six wives.
  2. Go to the scaffold site on Tower Green where two unfortunate wives, Anne Boleyn, and Catherine Howard, were executed.
  3. Lady Jane Grey, the 9 day Queen, was also beheaded on Tower Green, by order of Queen Mary (or Bloody Mary, as she came to be called).
  4. Hear how Ann Boleyn had an expert executioner shipped over from France but the final moments don’t always go so smoothly: enter Margaret Pole.
  5. Find out who was the first person to ‘lose their head’ at the Tower, and why it was one of the most feared prisons in England.
  6. Learn what it was like to be imprisoned and even tortured in the Bloody Tower. The tours can be quite graphic, and it is important to note that, therefore, not all tours are appropriate for children.

Tower of London Museum

A lesser-known but worthwhile visit is to the Tower of London museum; the Fusilier Museum. Here, you’ll learn the story of the infantry regiment based at the Tower since 1685. Another little-known quirk of the Tower’s history is exotic animals which were often kept there. You can visit the Royal Menagerie and find out why these royal beasts were resident at the Tower.
