ITINERARY

Day 1: Weyangoda

Welcome to the Pearl of the Indian Ocean! You will be greeted by our Sri Lankan Representative at the Airport and guided you to the car. Depending on your arrival time you may be able to do a quick City Tour if time permits. Check-in and relax after a long flight. Your overnight stay will be at the 4-star Hotel in Weyangoda.

Day 2: Cultural Triangle - Dambulla - Sigiriya

Enjoy your breakfast and start your journey to Damdulla. Today you will start to explore the real Sri Lanka by entering into the Cultural Triangle which is located in the North Central and Central of Sri Lanka. On the way, you will pass by many Paddy fields and ancient man-made Lakes and water reservoirs. If you like we can make a few stops on the way to experience few Sri Lankan-style activities. You will feel the diversity of Sri Lanka when entering the Cultural Triangle moving away from the busy city life. You will have a visit to Dambulla Rock Temple which is a UNESCO World Heritage site that was built in the 01st B.C. The cave temple consists of Five Caves with painted walls and ceilings which have more than 150 images of Buddha. Evening you will check-in to the hotel which surrounds with Lush greenery and forests in Sigiriya. You will love the ambiance! Your overnight stay will be at the Boutique Hotel in Sigiriya.

Day 3: Polonnaruwa Ancient city

Enjoy your breakfast and start another beautiful day. Today you can visit a rural village in Habarana and witness and experience the local way of life in Sri Lanka. Have a stroll through a scrub jungle and experience a Catamaran boat ride on a lake where you will see Sigiriya Rock and Pidurangala Rock side by side. Then you will come back to a village home and taste an authentic village cuisine prepared by the farmer. If you are interested you can also join the Cookery session at the village home, we recommend you to try this cookery activity it’s really fun. In the afternoon visit Polonnaruwa Ancient City.

Polonnaruwa city has many untouched ancient archeological relics and remains one of the best planned archaeological relic sites in the country. Polonnaruwa is the main town of Polonnaruwa District in the North Central Province of Sri Lanka. It is the second-largest city in this province and famous for it’s clean and beautiful environment, amazing ancient constructions and most importantly the huge lake ‘Parakrama Samudra’. Built in 1200 the city has many untouched ancient archeological relic sites and remains one of the best planned archaeological relic sites in the country. UNESCO has declared this ancient city as one of the World Heritage sites. Return to the hotel and relax. Your overnight stay will be at an Eco-Friendly hotel.

Day 4: Anuradhapura

Discover the Anuradhapura ancient Kingdom. Enjoy the breakfast and proceed to discover the first Kingdom in Sri Lanka - Anuradhapura. Anuradhapura was made the first capital of Sri Lanka by King Pandukhabaya in the 4th century BC and it so remained till the 11th century AD known as the longest-serving capitals, famous in ancient and modern times. 

Anuradhapura is a beautiful picturesque town located along a river bank which is popular for the fascinating ancient ruins and deep-rooted Buddhist culture. There is plenty to see in Anuradhapura from ancient trees like the Sri Maha Bodhi, the oldest tree in the world, to ancient monasteries and ruins of historical importance. Anuradhapura is one of the eight historical heritage sites in Sri Lanka. Return to the hotel, sit back and relax enjoying the evening. Your overnight stay will be at an Eco-Friendly hotel.

Day 5: Sigiriya - Travel to Central Region – Kandy

In the morning climb on Sigiriya Rock Fortress before the peak hours starts. Sigiriya rock fortress among locals this is called as the “8th wonder of the world” absolutely marvelous fortress complex which dates back to 477 CE situated 200 meters high from the ground. This giant rock fortress has water fountains, boulder gardens, frescos, mirror wall, relics of the castle and many more exciting monuments from the bottom to the top of the complex. This is definitely the most visited tourist attraction in Sri Lanka. UNESCO has declared this ancient city as one of the World Heritage sites in Sri Lanka. Some people believe that Sigiriya is a post-historical archeology turning point of Ravana. According to them, Sigiriya may be the Alakamandava (the City of the Gods) that was built up before 50 centuries ago by King Kubera who was the half-brother of Great king Ravana. 

After the exciting explorations in the Cultural Triangle today you will travel to Kandy which is another World Heritage city. Kandy is a popular place to visit due to its famous Temple “Kandy Temple of the Tooth relic” and where the famous annual Festival of “Kandy Esala Perahera” is being held. The city is small so you can roam around by foot by visiting some Gem Museums, Spice Gardens and Souvenir shops or Batik Factoriesduring your visit. Your overnight stay will be at a Hotel in Kandy .

Day 6: Nuwara Eliya

Proceed to “The Little England” – Nuwara Eliya. After the breakfast start rolling today you are heading to the Hill country of Sri Lanka, Nuwara Eliya. Visit a Tea Plantation with Tea factory where you will experience the Tea production process and taste a pure Ceylon cup of Tea at the tea estate itself. Nuwara Eliya city is famous for its Colonial British era buildings and the cool climate. Your overnight stay will be at a Hotel in Nuwara Eliya

Day 7: Horton Plains National Park

After the breakfast proceed to the Horton Plains. Today you will do a trek in the Horton Plains which is a bio-diversity hot-spot in Sri Lanka. Horton Plains National Park Sri Lanka’s best and most popular venue for nature reserves and eco-tourism is Horton Plains National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The breathtaking scenery with beautiful rolling hills with upper montane forest and wet patana grasslands is home to many endemic flora and fauna in Sri Lanka. There are several attractions at Horton Plains like the Baker’s fall, Chimmini pool and the famous World’s end an escarpment with a 3700 feet sheer drop with a fantastic view of tea estates below and on clear mornings one can see all the way up to the southern coastline. After the trek you will return to the hotel and relax.

Day 8: Safari at Udawalawa National Park

Enjoy your breakfast and kick off your day. Travel to Udawalawa to enjoy a Safari Game-Drive in Udawalawa National Park which is famous for Elephants and Birds. On the way you will visit the famous area named Ella for its magnificent views.  Udawalawe Park is situated in the border of the Sabaragamuwa and Uva Provinces of Sri Lanka. This park was opened to provide sanctuary to the wild animals displaced by the construction of a reservoir. This is the best place to see wild elephants all throughout the year. Orphaned calves and adolescents are looked after until they are ready to be released to natural habitat by the ‘Udawalawe Elephant Transfer Home’ located within the Park. In addition to other animals, leopards, fishing and jungle cats could also be sighted on some days. Your overnight stay will be at a Camp-site, enjoy the adventure it’s really exciting!

Day 9: Sinharaja Rainforest

Enjoy your breakfast on the shore of the river and listening to the birds singing. Later you will travel to Sinharaja Rain Forest to explore nature. Arrive in Sinharaja and check-in to nature-friendly hotel. Sinharaja Forest is located between the Sabaragamuwa and Southern provinces of Sri Lanka. It is a rain forest and a national park. School children in the age group of 13 and above are often taken on excursions to this forest reserve as it is included in their school curriculum. This is one of world heritage sites declared by UNESCO and is home to a variety of endangered mammal, birds, reptiles, butterflies including leopards. It is ideal for trekking but advisable to do so with a forest guide. Your overnight stay will be at an Eco-Friendly Resort.

Day 10: Sinharaja Rainforest and Galle Fort

Enjoy the breakfast and start the walk in to this beautiful gift of Mother-nature, this is a very important bio-diversity hot-spot in Asia. This trek itself is just like a deep meditation where you feel the ultimate serenity and get connected with nature. Enjoy the moment, this is a priceless feeling. After exploring Sinharaja forest proceed to Colombo. On the way you will visit another UNESCO world heritage site in Galle - the Dutch Fort. Check in to the hotel in Colombo.

Day 7: Colombo - Departure

After scrumptious breakfast overlooking the Indian Ocean, you will be taken to Colombo the Commercial Capital city for a brief visit. Drive by the Galle face Green, Old Parliament and stop for a short break at the Dutch Hospital complex to sip a Beer or have a small snack. Afterward travel to the Airport for your flight back home after exciting and relaxing wonderful 11 Days of Tour in the Paradise.
