Tour Highlights

This Uffizi guided tour comes with a lot of perks and benefits.

History Sneak Peek

Florence enjoys a worldwide popularity for the incredible art that keeps the spirit of artistic pursuit alive until today. Galleria Degli Uffizi goes as far back as the 16th century. It was the Cosimo I de Medici (first Grand Duke of Tuscany) who commissioned the construction in 1560. However, he aimed to build presentable offices for the local judges, merchants, and magistrates. The gallery idea came with Cosimo’s son who created his first personal gallery on the uppermost floor of the building. Since then the Medici art collection grew with every generation. The gallery as we know it opened to the public in 1769.
