Florence’s skyline wouldn’t be quite complete without the iconic cupola of Brunelleschi’s Duomo. There is no doubt, it’s one of Florence’s most impressive treasures. There are five key monuments make up the Florentine Duomo Complex. Each of the special, they take time and attention to explore! Thankfully, we arranged our Climb Duomo Florence Tour to help you get the most out of your visit.
First of all, our guide will lead you to climb the Duomo allowing you to skip the long over-present queue. There are 463 steps between you and the top of the cupola! But don't worry, we will take it easy. As you climb up, your guide will stop at different stages to teach you about the history of the Duomo Complex, the construction of all its parts, as well as the artworks and sculptures hiding within. The guided tour will culminate on the top of the Duomo as you admire the stunning views of Florence. Once you say goodbye to your guide, equipped with necessary knowledge, you are free to explore the whole complex on your own. Make sure to visit it all, the main body of the cathedral, crypt, the Baptistry (featuring the famous bronze door), Giotto’s Bell Tower, Museo dell’Opera. If you are feeling tired, you can leave seeing the rest of the complex for later, or even the next day. The tickets are valid for 48 hours.

Florence’s Duomo Complex keeps the glory of Renaissance alive until today. There is indeed much to admire! For instance, the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore is the fourth largest church on Earth. The whole complex including the Giotto’s Campanile, Baptistery, is a recognized UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Being a cunningly complex structure, this landmark was not a work of just one man or one century!
The cathedral construction took off towards the end of the 13th century under the guidance of Arnolfo di Cambio. Nonetheless, the Duomo part which covers most of the cathedral’s exterior is a work of Filippo Brunelleschi, added in the 15th century. The statues of both architects stand outside the cathedral on the right.
Wow! Two centuries to build a church! Moreover, it wasn't until the 19th century that it was, at last, fully decorated. The construction of Sagrada Familia suddenly doesn’t seem to be taking that long!

Awesome tour with a great guide. Climbing to the top of the Duomo is worth it so if you are physically capable, you should do it. The tour lets you skip the Domo terrace queue which is super long.
This tour is not for those who have a hard time climbing stairs. Count on a good climb but its worth it. The views of Florence you get from there are stunning. Our guide was funny as well as very knowledgeable. Recommend!
We had a great guide who willingly took pictures of everyone as we bravely climbed our way to the top. It's a LOT of stairs. She was friendly and knowledgeable. The tour was excellent
Totally loved it! Our guide Alice was the kindest person ever. She managed to bring history to life. Climbing the Duomo was hard but worth it especially for the views!!! DoTravel tours are always high quality!
Our guide, Stella was wonderful both as a person and as a guide. Her knowledge of the city's history and art was amazing. The information was interestingly presented. Absolutely recommend the tour. Only 5 stars? Ten might be more adequate!
This was my second tour booked with dotravel. The first one was the walking tour of Florence with Accademia... both of them were excellent and both guides were knowledgeable and super friendly! Totally recommend this site and their tours!!!
