This self-guided walking tour sets out from Faro to explore some of the Algarve's most dramatic coastal scenery. You will hike along sections of the Seven Hanging Valleys trail, enjoying cliff-top panoramas and carefully chosen photo stops. The route takes you to Praia da Marinha, celebrated in the Michelin guide and famed for striking rock formations often called the Titanic, the heart and the bridge. These views showcase cliffs formed over millions of years.
Next you will reach the top of the Benagil Cave, an elevated viewpoint that allows a unique perspective into the cavern carved by the sea. Further along the trail you will visit Algarseco and the Boneca Cave, with its sea-carved recesses and coastal geology that tell the story of the shoreline's evolution.
The experience concludes with time at Praia da Senhora da Rocha and Nova Beach, where a small 16th-century chapel crowns the cliff and a tunnel connects the two beaches through the rock. There are ample opportunities to relax and walk along the headland, take photographs, and soak up the coastal atmosphere.
