Can't leave Florence without seeing the Michelangelos statue of David. It's impressive even if you don't know much about art. The tour was informative, the skipping the lines made it really worthwhile. Our tour guide was well informed, answered all the questions.

Florence Italy Tours: Know Before You Go

  • Note museum closing times - When you plan your Florence museum guided tours, remember that most museums and galleries close on Mondays. The Museo dell' Opera del Duomo is the only one that stays open every day of the week.
  • Late dinner - Italians usually eat dinner around 9 pm, although many restaurants are open until 7:30 pm. Plan your wine and food tour ahead of time. Don’t miss out on tasting traditional Italian cuisine.
  • Be aware of Stendhal Syndrome - The idea of the Florence Syndrome is that seeing outstanding works of art can cause dizziness, confusion, rapid heartbeat, and disorientation. Be careful and take care of yourself while visiting the monuments and museums on your guided Uffizi tour.

How many days do you need in Florence?

When you are first visiting Florence, three days are ideal. To plan out your trip better you should have at least enough time to visit the Uffizi and Accademia Galleries, the Boboli Gardens and the Duomo complex. Take some time to walk around the historic center and discover lesser-known areas. Reach every corner of Florence and gain knowledge of its history when you book a Florence city tour.

What should I see in Florence?

Regardless if you visit Florence in a day or more, and whether it’s a Florence sightseeing tour or a Hop On Hop Off Florence bus tour, there are a few sites you can’t miss.

  • Reach the top of Brunelleschi's Dome after you climb 463 steps.
  • Enter The Baptistery of St. John and admire the mosaic-covered interior.
  • Wander around one of the residencies of the powerful Medici family, Palazzo Vecchio.
  • Cross the Arno River through the medieval Ponte Vecchio. You can even take a Florence boat tour along the river if you so wish.
  • Marvel at Michelangelo's David, the most famous Renaissance sculpture set in Galleria dell'Accademia.

Is it easy to walk around Florence?

Absolutely! In fact, Florence is considered one of the top walkable cities in Europe. As the city isn’t huge, you can navigate the streets pretty easily. However, if you want to learn about the sites and monuments, we recommend booking a Florence walking tour. For example, walking around the Duomo can be an enjoyable experience, but without a Florence tour guide, you would miss out on the fascinating story behind it.

What can you visit on Florence Italy city tours?

The Uffizi Gallery, Basilica di Santa Croce, Ponte Vecchio bridge, the list of Florence city tour destinations is endless! Visit one of the most iconic sites in all of Italy and explore Il Duomo. This enormous structure is one of the main spots on a Florence guided city tour. Joining one of the Florence tours will also help you to find the best food in the city, a must for any visit!
